today I (re)learned that time goes too quickly. try your best to live and love in the present.

    Notes: 2

today I learned that anyone and everyone can use their words however they like, and that’s very dangerous. people, including myself, don’t realize how far words can travel, over the course of years, allowing feeling and emotion to layer on and mix in until just about everything is distorted - a version of a version of a version of the truth. at that point, what matters?

  3. today I learned that even if it’s awkward, even if you feel stupid, or vulnerable, just say it. the hardest things to say are usually the things that need to be heard.

  4. today I learned that dried fruit and dried peels can look very similar. they taste very different.

  5. today I learned that sometimes the things you need are right under your nose… maybe they have been for three years.

  6. today I learned that in masses, people are sloppy, rude and careless. the mall was a bad place to go to the day after christmas.

  7. today I learned that even a little hill may be hard to climb sometimes. and… there’s nothing wrong with asking for a little help.

  8. today I learned that even though we know some things are pointless, we still end up doing them.

  9. today I (re)learned that the world is really small. regardless of where you go or where you grow, your roots will seem to stand firm.

  10. 19:15 22nd Dec 2012

    Notes: 1

today I learned that we were apparently pretty mature going into our freshman year. gold stars for us, alex.

  11. today I learned that it is possible to have a serious discussion on a sensitive topic in a light manner. in fact, any conversation between two people is possible in any manner, if they both just let it happen.

  12. today I learned that it’s more offensive to pretend to care than to openly not care at all. when you’re openly not caring, atleast you’re being honest.

  13. today I (re)learned that my problems are very small in comparison to the rest of the world.

  14. today I learned that although some things may have a dramatic visceral appeal, it certainly doesn’t mean they’re a good fit. at a certain age, you learn to appreciate and admire certain things without wanting to be a part of them.

  15. today I learned that if you approach a certain disadvantage as a challenge, it can actually be motivating. disappointment or fear aren’t necessarily bad things - sometimes they’re just agents for change.
